The Greenwood Fence (GWF®) 2-inch Starter Spacer is a matte black powder-coated aluminum positioning stop engineered to establish the bottom rail’s height above grade within the Modular Composite Fence and Gate System. Cut from the same 13/16 inch wide by 7/16 inch deep universal profile used across the modular system, the spacer slides into the post’s inner side channel and is positioned at the installer’s chosen height to compensate for grade, terrain, or design ground clearance requirements. Two black self-drilling screws are included and lock the spacer into the post’s inner chamber wall, creating a rigid seat on which the Bottom Rail rests to establish the panel’s baseline. The standard 2-inch spacer creates a 2-inch clearance between the substrate and the bottom of the panel, providing drainage, landscape flexibility, and level compensation across uneven runs. Universal fit across both the 2-3/4 inch Standard Post and the 4-inch Commercial (HP) Post. Sold individually; custom spacer lengths are available on request for specialized clearance requirements. Engineered in Addison, Illinois.
Insertion Bracket, Stainless Steel, 4-Pack
The Greenwood Fence (GWF®) Insertion Bracket is a stainless steel connection plate engineered to link every rail to the post channel within the Modular Composite Fence and Gate System. Sold as a 4-pack with 8 stainless steel screws, one pack completes a single panel assembly (two brackets per rail, top and bottom). Each bracket is screwed to the rail end with approximately 1/8 inch of intentional play, then slides into the post’s inner side channel to establish the panel-to-post connection. The 1/8 inch clearance is a deliberate engineering feature: it allows the bracket to shift geometrically within its own mounting holes to compensate for posts that are not perfectly plumb, pulling the effective post spacing back into the correct 74-inch on-center dimension so that 72-inch composite, vinyl, or aluminum infill boards drop into position with the right clearance every time. This self-aligning behavior is what makes real-world installations forgive small deviations without compromising panel geometry. Universal fit across both the 2-3/4 inch Standard Post and the 4-inch Commercial (HP) Post. Engineered in Addison, Illinois.
