6×6 Structural Gate Post
The Greenwood Fence (GWF®) 6×6 (150mm) Gate Post is a matte black powder-coated aluminum extrusion engineered as the primary structural post for the GWF gate system. Manufactured from 6063-T5 architectural-grade aluminum with an AAMA powder coating, the post measures 6×6 inches (150mm) over a 10-foot length (3 meters) with 3mm (11 gauge) wall thickness. Two integrated channels run the full length of one face, allowing hinge hardware to be positioned freely along the vertical axis for flexibility on gate height, weight distribution, and site conditions. The same two-channel profile serves the latch side on the opposite post, receiving strike or latch hardware with equivalent adjustability. This 6×6 profile is the larger of the two Gate Post options and is engineered for single gates over 4 feet wide and all double-gate configurations, where the increased gate mass demands a heavier structural post. The scale of the 6×6 post also delivers the visual weight and architectural presence that anchors the gate opening within the fence line. For narrower single gates 4 feet wide or less, the 4×4 (100mm) Gate Post shares the same profile geometry in a smaller footprint.
