Commercial (HP) Modular Fence Post
The Greenwood Fence (GWF®) 4-inch (100mm) Commercial (HP) Post is a matte black powder-coated aluminum extrusion engineered as the structural post for commercial applications and taller residential configurations within the Modular Composite Fence and Gate System. Manufactured from 6063-T5 architectural-grade aluminum with an AAMA powder coating, the post measures 4 inches square (100mm) over a 12-foot length (3660mm) with 3mm (11 gauge) wall thickness for structural integrity across fence heights up to 8 feet above grade. A three-slot design with 13/16 inch (20.3mm) universal slot openings allows the same post to serve four distinct configurations: as an end post using one slot to terminate a run, as a line post using two opposing slots for a straight run, as a corner post using two adjacent slots for a 90-degree turn, and as an intersection post using all three slots where a perpendicular run meets a straight run. The 13/16 inch slot dimension is the universal engagement standard across the modular system, ensuring precise fit between the post, rails, infill boards, and matching side covers regardless of whether the installation uses the 2-3/4 inch Standard Post or the 4-inch Commercial (HP) Post. Unused slots are closed off with the matching Side Post Cover, sold separately. This single SKU replaces the three separate commercial post variants typical of aluminum fence systems, consolidating inventory and configuration decisions into one universal part. Designed for in-ground embedment or surface mounting to concrete slabs and other prepared substrates using the matching HP surface-mount base plate. Compatible with the full range of composite, vinyl, and aluminum infill options across the modular system.
